The January 2009 Stereophile magazine includes a feature article on how Blue Coast label founder, Cookie Marenco, records and mixes acoustic guitar. On hand to perform was Jason McGuire, flamenco guitarist extraordinaire, while Marenco position microphones to achieve a classic Blue Coast 'sound'.
Two workshops took place in September 2008 at OTR Studios sponsored by the Bay Area Audiophile Society. Bob Walters organized the event that allowed attendees to experiment in the control room to achieve various soundscapes.
